Awards

In 2007, the City of Irvine received the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence in Planning and Environmental Quality for its participation in the Community Energy Partnership.

Established by the League of California Cities, The Helen Putnam Award recognizes Irvine’s use of cost-effective and convenient methods to change the energy consumption habits of residents and businesses in an effort to protect the environment, save money, and conserve resources today and for future generations.

Innovative Program Design Award was awarded to the Business Energy Coalition from the Peak Load Management Alliance during their 2005 Demand Response Annual Awards.

In 2002 The Energy Coalition was awarded a Flex Your Power Energy Conservation Award. The Coalition was honored to be among those recognized and accepted the award for the PEAK Student Energy Actions program.

In 2001, the Two Cities Energy Project was named a winner in the category of Energy Conservation for the State of California's highest and most prestigious environmental honor: the annual Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award

The Energy Coalition’s J. Robert Fluor Award was presented at Irvine City Hall (left to right) by Irvine Mayor Agran, J. Robert Fluor Jr., and John B. Phillips to Irvine Councilmember Mike Ward and Craig Perkins of the City of Santa Monica, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to The Aspen Accord.
