Founded in 1981, The Energy Coalition, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation, facilitates partnerships and supporting programs that empower utility end-users (municipal governments, businesses, students and residents) to practice smart energy management.
A key partnership facilitated by The Energy Coalition is The Community Energy Partnership (CEP).The CEP is a partnership among Southern California Edison, The Gas Company and ten Southern California cities. The CEP is a multidimensional energy efficiency education and direct installation program.
Position Description: (Full-Time Position):
The Energy Coalition is seeking a full-time Project Manager who will report to the CEP Program Manager. The role of the Project Manager is to manage the implementation of the CEP energy efficiency direct install and community education initiatives. Essential to this position is the strengthening and shaping of current initiatives, building effective relationships between consumers and their serving utilities, and supporting program staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coordination of assigned CEP initiatives.
- Provide project planning, development, and reporting to management on the status of project initiatives and their projected energy savings
- Serve as a community liaison between assigned cities and the Coalition.
- Be proactive in identifying and responding to City requests and needs.
- Develop leads for direct install initiatives for Residential and Small Business Tune-ups.
- Participate in and support CEP community and PEAK school events.
- Develop and maintain project tracking documents and databases.
- Prepare and organize meetings with city, school, community, and partner team leaders.
- Provide comprehensive support to all CEP and PEAK activities and other Energy Coalition activities as directed by program manager.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of applicable work experience in the energy industry or related field preferred.
- Prior community liaison and project management experience. Prior work in education field a plus.
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Must be available to work outside of regular business hours to attend meetings and events.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work in a Team atmosphere
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- Vehicle for travel between Cities for meetings and events.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
