Community Energy Partnership: Schools
Approximately 12,000 elementary and middle school students from nine different school districts within the Community Energy Partnership participate in the PEAK Student Energy Actions program, a comprehensive standards-based physical science education program for 4th – 6th grade students.
Started in 1998 as part of the Regional Energy Efficiency Initiative in Irvine and Santa Monica, PEAK has since spread across Southern California. As a result of implementation through the Community Energy Partnership, communities surrounding PEAK schools also benefit from unique outreach activities focused on energy efficiency education.
