We Like Your Energy

The Business Energy Coalition (BEC) is a project between Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), major businesses, and civic leaders. Facilitated by The Energy Coalition, the BEC was designed to address the specific business challenges regarding energy reduction during critical peak hours. Working closely with its members individually and as a group, the BEC develops and implements effective energy-curtailment strategies for periods of high demand. This collaborative approach affords all members a high level of interactivity and participation. Our straightforward approach is why more forward-thinking, proactive companies are joining the BEC Demand Response program.

Demand Response.

Award TeamBusiness accounts for 35% of California’s peak energy use. Companies in Northern California and the Central Valley are leading both the state and country with their energy-saving participation in Demand Response. Energy curtailment programs, such as the BEC, are key to proactively managing energy use during times of critical peak demand and seasonal power emergencies. Responding effectively to peak demand periods promotes energy reliability and reduces the risk of brown outs and black outs.

BEC companies include major players in property management, finance, healthcare, hospitality, and industrial/manufacturing sectors. For an in-depth look at some of our member’s experiences, visit the Business Energy Coalition Case Study.
